Description
North America, Europe, and North Africa are the natural habitats of snapdragons. The reason the name “serrabella” comes from the way the blooms resemble an open mouth on a dragon’s head. A highly versatile flower, snapdragons come in a variety of forms, including the dwarf variety seen in the United Kingdom.
The months of April through June and August through October are when Snapdragons blossom. Snapdragons require regular deadheading—removing the wilted blooms from the stem—in order to develop healthily. They are also quite finicky about the amount of water and sunlight they receive. To find out if snapdragons will be available during your wedding season, ask your florist about your local possibilities!
